The
Tron Kirk, Edinburgh. 23rd April 2003.
This document should
in no way be considered an investigation report! Rather it should
be viewed as an account of our experience at the Tron Kirk.
Whilst In Edinburgh we had the chance to do a small investigation
in an old church that also houses the archeological dig site
which has uncovered the oldest known paved road in Edinburgh.
We decided to approach this investigation as a closed set. Where
by we would set up equipment and the lock up the building only
returning to change tapes ECT. This seemed like a good idea
on the outside but having reviewed the video and audio taken
on the night it appears that the Tron Kirk was not a great place
to investigate in any shape or form. The building front onto
the Royal Mile, which is the main street in Edinburgh's Old
Town, and is there fore very busy.
At this point I should perhaps point out that the ghost is supposed
to walk from one end of the uncovered road to the other and
is believed to be of the man that built the road as he is reported
historically as being buried underneath the cobbles. With this
in mind we set up video cameras at each end of the road and
a third looking from one side. We also placed Dictaphones at
intervals down the length of the road.
We did pick up on audio what we believe are footsteps, but because
of the amount of noise that we picked from outside the building
(talking, whistling, cars and buses going past the doors) we
have had to disregard it all. As for the video we have little
evidence of any thing unusual apart from one camera which constantly
picked interference and one which seems to have been knocked
slightly as it moves when the building is empty. Again we have
to disregard this as it both things could well have been caused
by vibration from the traffic passing the building.
In fact at the time of writing the only thing that stands out
as truly unusual is the high amount of EMF activity that was
evident only in the areas of the building that were directly
over the uncovered archeology. As soon as we step off the uncovered
road and part of a building and onto the wooded walk way that
surrounds it the EMF activity drops to zero. We even switched
all the electricity off at the mains just to be sure it wasn't
interference causing the activity (it wasn't). It is possible
that the high EMF readings in the area are what caused the interference
on the video camera, but again this remains speculation.
I have included this small article just to show how important
it is to take into account all the surroundings when embarking
on any investigation, any interference from agencies that are
beyond your control will and can as illustrated here because
all results to become null and void.
